Physical properties

Density: Grade 12 titanium plate has a low density of about 4.81g/cm³, which is lighter than traditional materials such as steel. Melting point: Its melting point is relatively high, about 1600-1700℃, which enables it to withstand high temperatures and maintain good structural integrity in some high-temperature environments, such as high-temperature components of chemical reactors or thermal protection components of aircraft engines.

Thermal conductivity and thermal expansion coefficient: The thermal conductivity is moderate, about 7-8W/(m・K), which can effectively conduct heat and avoid local overheating. At the same time, the thermal expansion coefficient is relatively small, and the dimensional stability of the material is good when the temperature changes, which is conducive to maintaining the accuracy and stability of the structure, such as in the housing of precision instruments or the support structure of optical equipment.

Mechanical properties
Strength and hardness: Grade 12 titanium plate has good strength and hardness. Its tensile strength is generally between 480-620MPa, and its yield strength is about 380-550MPa. This strength level enables it to withstand certain external forces and can be used to manufacture structural parts that require certain strength support. At the same time, the hardness is also moderate, and after proper processing and heat treatment, it can meet different wear resistance and deformation resistance requirements.

Toughness and ductility: It has good toughness and ductility, and the elongation can reach about 10-20%. This means that when it is impacted or deformed, the material will not break easily, but can undergo a certain degree of plastic deformation to absorb energy, thereby improving the impact resistance and reliability of the structure. Corrosion resistance
General environmental corrosion: Grade 12 titanium plate has excellent corrosion resistance in atmospheric environment, fresh water environment and most neutral chemical media. This is because a stable and protective oxide film will form on the titanium surface, which can effectively prevent the contact between the external medium and the base metal, thereby slowing down the corrosion process.

Special environmental corrosion: It can also show good corrosion resistance in seawater environment containing chloride ions. Processing performance
Cutting and forming: Grade 12 titanium plate is easy to cut and form. It can be processed by conventional mechanical processing methods such as sawing, shearing, stamping, etc. In the cold forming process, as long as the degree of deformation and processing speed are controlled, the plate can be smoothly bent, stretched or curled into the required shape, which can be used to manufacture various complex structural components.

Welding performance: It has good welding performance. It can be welded by methods such as tungsten inert gas welding (TIG welding) and metal inert gas shielded welding (MIG welding). In the welding process, by reasonably selecting welding parameters and filling materials, the quality of the welded joint can be guaranteed, and the joint strength can reach more than 90% of the parent material strength, meeting the requirements of most engineering applications.
